Should a photojournalists ethics be absolute or situational?
Situational on the basis that when you crop or change the the color levels on a photo you are not being professional and keeping it absolute in ethics.
Can a photo really capture truth? Yes in the case of sports i mean when a guy is hanging from a basketball rim then he is hanging from the rim.
What decisions have you made as a photographer that "edit" reality? This really involves in what you are doing to edit a photo. Say im croping out some of the sky in a photo to make it smaller amd I really being unethical? In that am i editing reality. But in the case inwitch i take a couple mols of a girls face then I changing reality of that photo at the time it was taken.
Why is it important that news organizations have clearly defined ethical standards?Well because in a professional news paper your main job is to tell the truth about the news thats going on around you and tell it to the public. Now it is the readers choice to believe it or not but you want it to be asclose to the truth as it can be. Now altering a photo to say brighten the color or croping out something should be situational but still be ethical.

racial diversity is it bad ? what?!
What I thought was wrong with the photo of the University of Wisconsin foot ball game is that they are trying putting a black student in a picture to make them selves diverse when they can just go to a game where there is acctually a black student and they could have put a photo where there is a black student cheering along with other caucasion students.

guidelines for better photography:911 photos

1balanced: the photo is balanced by it not being un centered and having the solider on one side and the little girl on the other.
2rule of thirds: plays a perfect role in this photo by where the solider and girl are placed
3framing: the solider is framed with help from the garage door lines and railing of the stair case
4simplicity: its pretty much just a picture of a solider possibly walking away from home and the girl entering the house.
5lines: On this one its so so i mean you can see the lines from the house and the stairs but they really arnt that interesting though you can see its a not 2d all with angle in witch its shot.
6merges: well there is a merge in the photo with the white on the little girl and the door, and also with the green of the solider and the bush so i would say this photo does not pass the merging part of the critique

enlarging my first negative to a positive.
the first thing i did was clean my negative with photoflow
i loaded the negative in to the enlarger by opening the englarger placing the photo in the negative holder and placing it into the enlarger and closing the enlarger. to see my photo i turned on the outlet focus to see the image apear.
To then focus the image i turned the nob on the side of englarger either clock wise or counter clock wise to get it as focused as i can with out using the magnifer . Then to make the photo become more persice i used the magnifier to see the sand like crystals on the photo.
To set the aperature we turned the lens under the enlarger to place less light in the photo.
To do the test stip we set our timer back to outlet time to set out timer.
I then got a peice of emoltion paper and tore it into thirds to use as our test stip
I then placed where our photo was being seen and exposed all of it for 3 sec. Then i covered the test strip into seperate fourths so i can expose each 4th for different times.
we then developed the test stip and saw the different lighting we could have on our photo.
We then did the same with our real picture.
i exposed mine for about 7 seconds. To develope it I put it in developer for 1 min. then fixer for 15 sec. then into permawash for 2 min. then into the jacuzzi for about 5 min.

negative critique !!!
photo number 1) out of all my exposers Exposer number 15 would be among my favorites it would be of a classmate of ours the photo looks great reasons being its candid, the focus is on her, its centered and there isn't really anything to discract you from what your looking at well only a bit on the left sidie of the photo where a persons might stand out but not enough to distract you from her. The lighting is good aswell no overexposed photo here.
photo number 2) exposer number 10 its totally candid the focus is more or less directly oh my subject the lighting is good aswell and my subject looks very puzzled its pretty funny.
i did find some waterspots on some of my photos and 1 of my photos was pretty blury other than that for my first time i think i did an ok job

Pinhole photos whoa!

Ok to first start off these photos are both small but thats how they saved on my computer :\ sorry about that. But anyway lets get started
This photo i would have to say i dislike reason ONE would be because i couldn't tell what this photo was at all its extremely blurry and the lighting is horrible .I found out what this picture was when i saved it onto my computer and its a show of a elevator.Though the angle was ok it helped non knowing what the photo was . If you look closely there is a trash bag on the bottom left of the photo.

The critique of my first photos:good & bad

This picture (the one the right)would be my bad picture.
Reasons being the photo was taken to far away from the main subject(the girl) leaving excess dead space and well the photo being taken far away you really can't tell what were really supposed to be looking at.
Reason 2 would be that the photo is kind of tilted.
Now this photo on the left would be my good
photo. Reasons being that the shot is focused on its main subject and it shows good emotion of the subject.
